Massive flames billowed up from Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport Thursday morning as emergency crews worked to treat more than 100 victims.

But the victims were actually volunteers with simulated injuries.

It was all part of a massive emergency response drill known as Big Bird 2018.

The drill recreated a plane crash complete with a mock plane, victims, and massive flames.

Airport officials said it is an effort to ensure that responders are ready if disaster ever does strike.

In addition to Atlanta officials, managers, and employees from airports in 16 countries around the world were on hand to learn from the drill.
