Alleged drug deal leads to triple shooting in Midtown, police say
ATLANTA - Atlanta police are investigating a triple shooting in Midtown.
The investigation was ongoing Tuesday afternoon near the 800 block of West Peachtree Street.
Atlanta Police Department and Georgia Tech Police Department units were at the scene.
Police said there were three people involved in the incident, which started as an apparent drug deal in an apartment.
There was one initial gunshot victim, who police said was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital.
Police believe there was a gunfight when two other people were shot. Victims allegedly claimed they were shot elsewhere but police said investigators found no evidence validating their claim.
All of the gunshot victims are in stable condition.
