2 killed helping stranded ambulance driver on I-16

MACON, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Tragedy Thursday night in Macon where two people were hit and killed by a tractor-trailer while trying to help a stranded ambulance driver.

Bibb County officials said the two pulled off Interstate 16 to deliver diesel fuel to the ambulance driver.

Deputies said the victims were still sitting in their car when a tractor-trailer slammed into them from behind.

The victims were 21 and 22 years old.
