19-year-old, mother arrested in Miller Grove High shooting incident
DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - A 19-year-old suspect has been arrested in connection with a shooting at Miller Grove High School in DeKalb County, authorities said.
What we know:
The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Unit, along with federal and regional partners, took Isaiah Reid into custody at an apartment complex in Duluth. Officials said the arrest was carried out without incident.
Reid faces multiple felony charges, including aggravated assault on a public safety officer and terroristic threats. Investigators say he fired several shots at school resource officers on Feb. 19 after being told to leave a football game. No injuries were reported.
Authorities also arrested Reid’s mother, Michelle Reid, who is accused of helping him flee the scene. She faces charges including aggravated assault and hindering the apprehension of a fugitive.
What's next:
Both were booked into the DeKalb County Jail and are being held without bond.
