Is it stuffing or dressing?

Dressing versus stuffing. It's the highly contentious debate that surfaces every Thanksgiving.

It seems as if many people agree that bread and herbs baked and served alongside turkey is termed "dressing." The same mix, stuffed inside the bird, is called "stuffing." 

Southerners tend to use the term "dressing" while most northerners stick to "stuffing."
