ATLANTA - After a very soggy Sunday, steady rain is still blanketing the metro area and north Georgia this Monday morning. By late morning and into the afternoon, the steady rain will shift out of our area. Mostly cloudy skies and a few stray showers will be left over into the afternoon. But the later in the day it gets, the fewer showers we'll see and the brighter the skies will get.
Under partly cloudy skies tonight, temperatures will dip to chilly levels that might be a shock to the system after all of last week's record-breaking warmth! Most areas will cool into the 40s by sunrise Tuesday.
Even though this week will be noticeably cooler than last week, temperatures will continue to run warmer than average all the way through the weekend.
