Heavy Rain and High Winds
Atlanta - Heavy rain is on the way tonight and early Monday as a strong area of low pressure slowly moves across the Southeast. Winds will also pick up from the east with gusts to 40 mph possible through the overnight hours.
A Flood Watch is in effect for all of north Georgia until 2 pm Monday afternoon. 2-4" of rain is possible with slightly higher amounts in the northeast Georgia mountains.

As a warm front to our south lifts northward tonight, the winds will increase out of the east. Sustained winds of 15-25 mph with gusts to 40 mph will be common through early Monday morning. A Wind Advisory has been issued from 8 pm Sunday until 7 am Monday. The strongest wind will occur in the higher elevations of the mountains.

By Monday afternoon the activity will subside, but scattered showers will continue right through Tuesday afternoon.
