Kamala Harris quotes Martin Luther King, Jr.
During her concession speech, Vice President Kamala Harris quoted an adage from Civil Rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr.'s 1968 speech "I've been to the Mountaintop." She focused on the quote, "Only when it is dark enough, can you see the stars," and said she hoped that if America darkened under Trump's presidency, Americans would find a way to fill the sky with the light of billions of stars. She also quoted Howard University's core values, "Excellence in Truth and Service." Howard University is Harris' alma mater.
