CDC sees new uptick in COVID hospitalizations
The CDC says COVID hospitalizations are on the rise again in the U.S., possibly signaling a late summer wave. More than 7,000 people were hospitalized across the country the week of July 16, compared to over 6,000 the week before. Meanwhile, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) launched new clinical trials to test four possible treatments for Long COVID. Patients with the condition suffer ongoing health problems after their initial infection. It can last weeks, months, or sometimes even years.
