Rockmart Yellow Jackets at Cedartown Bulldogs - Game of the Week

CEDARTOWN, Ga. - The votes are in and this week’s Game of the Week takes the HIGH 5 Sports Team to Doc Ayers Field as the Rockmart Yellow Jackets look to battle the Cedartown Bulldogs in a mean matchup.

The Cedartown Bulldogs are coming off a .500 season. They replaced Coach Scott Hendrix with long-time Bulldogs Baseball coach Doyle Kelley back in January. Kelley takes the reigns with plenty of experience, and lots of knowledge of the rivalry with the Rockmart Yellow Jackets—he actually coached there for a while. The Bulldogs produced UGA running back Nick Chubb a few years back, and now Tony Mathis is following in his footsteps… Mathis is expected to have a breakout year in 2017.

This opening game is truly their biggest rivalry game of the season. Rockmart Head Coach Biff Parson is coming off a 9-3 season that included a trip to the second round of the GHSA playoffs.
