Big Show recap - Playoffs Week Two

It’s the second round of state playoffs and unfortunately, the last night of the Big Show. Yes, it’s been a long season, but it’s finally over…

However, we’re not over covering the road to the state championships being held this year, for the first time, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, so stay with us right here. But before we get there, we need to recap the final Big Show for 2017.

Play of the Night

First up, as always we've got our play of the night and it comes to us from North Gwinnett as quarterback Jimmy Urzua rolls right, makes a perfect throw and L.J. Fisher gets a foot inbounds for the touchdown. North Gwinnett with an impressive win over Grayson, but more from that game later.

Maynard Jackson at Buford

Getting the second round party started was the AAAAA Bracket with the Maynard Jackson Jaguars coming off their first playoff victory in school history. They were up against the Buford Wolves Friday night.

Ware County at Stockbridge

Staying in the AAAAA Bracket, Kevin Whitley's Stockbridge Tigers hosted the Ware County Gators from way down south.

Eagles Landing at Warner Robins

The Golden Eagles of Eagles Landing beat Whitewater in the first round. Now, they are on the road to face the Demons of Warner Robins.

Flowery Branch at Carver-Atlanta

Also in AAAAA, the Flowery Branch Falcons took on the Carver Panthers.

Blessed Trinity at Cartersville - Call of the Week

And then it was time for the Call of the Week featuring the Mighty Titans of Blessed Trinity against the all-might Cartersville Purple Hurricanes. WBHF Cartersville’s Matt Santini and Don Startup have the call while Eli Jordan brings the sights and sounds.

Heading to the AAAAAA Bracket, Colquitt County was at Walton to face the Raiders.

The Milton Eagles made it to the second round to face the Brookwood Broncos.

Region3-AAAAAAA Champions Hillgrove hosted the Blue Devils of Tift County.

The Parkview Panthers hosted the Mountain View Bears. This was a pretty good matchup here.

This week’s Game of the Week is a historic matchup between the Cedartown Bulldogs and Marist War Eagles.

The Heritage Patriots were down in Brunswick Facing the "Terrors" of Glynn Academy.

Headed to AA Bracket action now, B.E.S.T. Academy and Rabun County battled it out.

Savannah Christian at ELCA

Switching gears to the A-Private Bracket, Coach Jonathan Gess and Eagles Landing Christian Academy hosted the Raiders of Savannah Christian.

Centennial vs Mays

Moving over to the AAAAA Bracket is Centennial and Mays in a matchup of the HIGH 5 Teams of the Week.

WATCH FOR:

- 2nd quarter 14-7 mays when Centennial's Max Brosmer scrambles then finds Julian Nixon who races in to tie the game.

- Next Knights drive. Brosmer to Nixon again. This time he uses 6-4 frame to grab this one. Nixon's just a freshman!!

- Mays fighting back. They go to their 6-4 receiver Chris Mckibbins. That tied it at 21 apiece.

Tucker vs Northside-Warner Robins

A big crowd made the trip up for the Northside-Tucker game.

WATCH FOR:

Dacula vs Allatoona

Staying in the AAAAA Bracket is Dacula and Allataoona.

- Falcons running back DeAndre Price with a nice pickup, but they can't get points.

- Later in the 2nd quarter, the Bucs do score.

- Brandon Nash smashes in for 6.
