A little boy from metro Atlanta, who received a new heart several years ago, celebrated his third birthday last month!

Silas Huffman is now 2.5 years post-transplant and his parents said his new heart is doing really well.

The FOX Medical Team's Beth Galvin followed the then 7-month-old baby's journey as his family prayed and waited on a heart. Beth shared the following update on her Facebook page last week:

"Silas Huffman is 3! Many of you followed his story here, and I know many of you fell in love with his spirit and his epic sweetness. He is now 2.5 years post-transplant and his new heart is doing really well. The Huffmans celebrated his birthday with a visit to families of children in Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston's cardiac intensive care and step down units, bring them gifts.

Silas' parents are so grateful to the family of the baby boy whose heart he received. Facing unimaginable loss, they chose to share their dying son's organs. It was that decision that saved Silas Huffman.
