A boiler blast punched a hole in the wall of a College Park business early Wednesday morning.

Workers were forced to evacuate Kapstone Container Corporation, which is a producer of paper products. Investigators said up to thirty workers were inside when the explosion happened on Sullivan Road.

Fire officials said the lid of the boiler careened into the woods behind the building and started a fire. Crews were able to douse the flames fairly quickly, since there is a station around the corner.

Now, hazardous materials investigators are working to ensure the rest of the equipment inside is safe.
