Woman dies after DeKalb County hit and run

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - A woman has died following a hit-and-run accident in DeKalb County.

Police say Carmen Harris, 39, walked into the northbound lanes of Candler Road around 2 a.m. Monday and was struck by a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle, described as a white Dodge pick-up truck, did not stop.

Harris was transported to Grady memorial Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

Police say the victim’s daughter witnessed the accident.

An investigation is ongoing.
