Woman asks community for help following crash

An Atlanta woman who lost her arm after a car crash with an Atlanta police officer said the cost of her recovery has left her homeless. She's asking the community to rally around her.

Lisa Williams said she was driving in the West End neighborhood in February when an Atlanta Police Department officer slammed into her car.

She said the force of that impact actually ripped her arm from her body.

Since the accident, Williams said the cost of her recovery has essentially bankrupted her.

She has set up a GoFundMe page.

In addition, she's hosting a fundraising event this Thursday at the Shrine of the Black Madonna Church on Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard.
