Winter Weather Preparedness Week 2015

ATLANTA - December 2nd marks the second day of Winter Weather Preparedness Week.

Throughout the week, GEMA/HS will be sharing winter weather resources, recommendations, and information through the Ready Georgia campaign website.

Day 1 (Monday, Nov. 30) – Winter Weather in Georgia
Day 2 (Tuesday, Dec. 1) – Winter Weather Terminology
Day 3 (Wednesday, Dec. 2) – How to Prepare for a Winter Storm
Day 4 (Thursday, Dec. 3) – What to Do During a Winter Storm
Day 5 (Friday, Dec. 4) – Winter Weather Outlook

For free, you can create a ‘Ready profile’ on the Ready Georgia website to help you prepare.

It will help you create a family communications plan and also generates a customized list of items to build a Ready kit. Ready Kit Recommendations: Water, Food, Can opener, Radio, First aid kit, Whistle, Face mask, Pliers, Local maps

GEMA/HS also suggests the following to keep in your car: Food, Water, blankets, Phone and charger, ice scraper, flashlight, jumper cables, sand or cat litter.Share these tips with others on social media using hashtag: #Ready2015
