Police are trying to find the man and woman responsible for a violent carjacking after investigators said a 65-year-old man was gunned down and the duo took off with his car.

The victim has been identified as Victor Green, of Duluth.

According to police, Green was shot to death in front of a home in the 2200 block of Carey Drive. Atlanta Police said Green and a woman were sitting in a gray 2016 Honda Accord when another man and woman approached. Investigators said the man opened the passenger’s door and demanded the female victim’s property.

The male suspect ordered the woman out of the car and had the female suspect stand guard over her, police said. The male suspect then approached Green in the car and demanded his wallet and phone, police said.

That’s when the woman ran from the scene. Police said she heard three shots fired as she fled.

Investigators said the male suspect shot Green and pushed him out of the car before both suspects fled the scene in Green’s car. Detectives said they found the victim’s car abandoned in the 6000 block of Mallory Road.

A witness who did not want to be named said the ordeal had him enraged.

"There were children in the house and I saw them in the window. That's nothing no child should see," the neighbor said. Neighbors told FOX 5 News prior to the shooting visitors had been stopping by the house all day to drop off presents for children in the home.

Green’s son said his father is an immigrant from Sierra Leone who came to the U.S. searching for a better life back in 1985.

The family said the husband and father most recently worked as a manager here at Popeye’s Restaurant on Lee Street because he had a passion for people, but the grandfather of six also earned a master’s degree in history.

The male suspect is described by police as being in his early 20s, 5’7” tall, medium complexion, thin build, short hair, and was clean-shaven. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, black or blue pants, black air max shoes with a red bubble, and was wearing a fanny pack which contained a black handgun.

Police said the female suspect is described as being about 5’4” to 5’5” tall, medium complexion, and with a thin build. She was last seen wearing a black skull cap, black and white jacket with ‘pink’ on the front, black leggings, black air force ones, and was armed with a black handgun.

Anyone who sees the male or female suspects is asked to call 911 immediately. Anyone with information on the carjacking or murder is asked to call the Atlanta Police Homicide Unit.
