Union City Police: 16-year-old girl was not kidnapped

UNION CITY, Ga. - A 16-year-old girl has recanted her story of being kidnapped and drugged from a south Fulton County park.

The teenager recanted her story of being kidnapped and drugged at Ronald Bridges Park about 11:30 p.m. on April 28. Police were trying to determine if the victim knew her alleged attacker.

The teen was taken to the hospital for treatment and detectives are awaiting the results of a rape kit.

Meanwhile, people who live in the Union City area said they were relieved.
