According to an incident report, the female student was walking home from Lumpkin Street in the downtown area when she was attacked. She suffered bruises and cuts to her face and knee. She told police the man ran away with her device after beating her to the ground.

FOX 5 News spoke with several UGA students about the attack. Senior Sara Dorhmi said she tries to hang out with others and keep a close eye on her surroundings.

"It's scary to think people would take advantage of a young girl in the middle of the night you need to be careful," Dorhmi said.
