Police continue to search for two more people involved in a chase through the city Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Atlanta Police Department, a license plate reader tipped off officers that a Honda CR-V on Howell Mill Road had been reported stolen. Police called in the Georgia State Patrol for backup and when a trooper tried to stop the SUV, the driver took off.

The chase led officers to the intersection of Langhorn Street and Westview Drive where the trooper performed a P.I.T. maneuver to stop the SUV. Once the car came to a rest on the side of the road, police said the four people inside the vehicle ran.

"That's when we called our K-9 unit. They came out and were able to apprehend two of the suspects," said Officer Donald Hannah with the Atlanta Police Department. "They were in the Woodline near I-20 and Langhorn."

Police arrested a 17-year-old male and a 13-year-old male.

Investigators searched the stolen SUV and discovered clothing, several book bags and handbags, and a silver handgun. Police officers were not immediately sure whether the items had been stolen.

"Right now, we're trying to figure that out," said Officer Hannah. "The investigation is underway to determine, you know, whether or not these suspects have been linked to any other robberies or whether the items recovered are stolen."

Police did not know what charges the teens would face.
