Two shooting victims in S. Fulton County

UPDATE: Fulton County Police now believe two shooting victims found at separate locations are connected through a homicide scene earlier Sunday evening.

On Burdett Road before 6 p.m., police found a woman's body with gunshot wounds in the passenger side of a vehicle that was stopped on a neighbor's lawn.

"We heard the shots, came running out," said neighbor Andre Wiggins. "When I saw the car, I ran up. The girl was laying in a car," he said.  Witnesses saw cars speeding around the neighborhood before the grisly discovery of a body.

Police now believe there was one man and woman in the vehicle during the shooting, and that man fled to his home almost three miles away on Winterside Lane to seek help.

Officers said the man banged on his door before 8 p.m.; investigators said he was alert, conscious and breathing when he was rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital.

Officers do not have a motive and are still trying to contact family members of the woman.
