Two dead after dump truck collides with sanitation truck

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. - Two people are dead following crash on Georgia Highway 9 in Forsyth County.

The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office said a dump truck and a sanitation truck collided at an intersection of GA-9 and Castleberry Road and Carolene Way at the entrance to Fowler Park around 2:30 p.m. Monday.

The two people inside the sanitation truck were pronounced dead at the scene.

A man in the dump truck was airlifted in serious condition to a hospital.

The dump truck was carrying a load of asphalt, according to deputies.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.

The road was shut down for a couple hours after the crash.
