TSA sets all time record for daily screenings

The Thanksgiving holiday saw millions of people traveling by air, and on Sunday the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) says it set a new daily screening record with over 3 million travelers screened at airports across the country.
 

By the numbers:

The TSA says agents screened 3,133,924 individuals, the highest number ever in the agency's history, breaking the previous record of 3,096,797 million screenings on June 22 of this year.

2025 a busy year for air travel

TSA says 2025 is a busy one for air travel, with current daily volume of about 2.48 million, compared to 2.47 million in 2024, a daily increase of about 14,000 travelers per day in 2025 over 2024.

  • Have valid ID: Bring your REAL ID, passport, or other acceptable form of identification and have it out to show the TSA officer at the checkpoint entrance.
