This latest addition to the social media platform is also part of a broader initiative by TikTok to bolster the company’s mental health efforts to support users.

Why you should care:
TikTok is introducing an in-app meditation in sleep hours feature for users of all ages on its platform.
But for teens under 18, the feature turns on automatically. The social media company said in a release that if a teen chooses to use TikTok after 10pm, their "for you" feed will be interrupted by a guided meditation exercise, helping them relax for the night.

And if a teenager decides to spend extra time on TikTok after the first reminder, a second full-screen prompt will appear on the app. The feature also allows adults to turn on "sleep hours" at any time from the "screen time" settings page.
"By bringing guided meditation to everyone on TikTok and further supporting the work of mental health organizations around the world, we're once again demonstrating the positive power of the TikTok community," according to a statement from a TikTok release.
News of the meditation feature comes a day after TikTok introduced its new AI-powered image to video feature. To date, TikTok has more than 1 billion users.
