Thursday marks 11 years since Atlanta tornado

ATLANTA (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Thursday marked 11 years since a tornado tore through the city of Atlanta, leaving damage throughout downtown.

The EF-2 storm ripped a hole in the top of the Georgia Dome, where the SEC Men’s Basketball Tournament was underway.

The strong wind also blew out hundreds of windows in the Westin Hotel and brought down sections of the Cotton Mill Lofts in Cabbagetown.
