Thieves targeted numerous cars in parking deck

ATLANTA - Atlanta Police are still on the hunt for whoever swept through a parking deck early Sunday morning, smashing out car windows and stealing anything they could.

Investigators said in the early morning hours of Sunday, around fifteen cars were targeted at The Jane apartments on Colonial Homes Drive NW. At least one resident said their car was stolen, while others lost items from inside their cars.

Several residents who spoke to FOX 5 News said the gate which allows access into the parking deck had not been working and was left open for much of last week. A spokeswoman for the company that manages The Jane, CWS Apartment Homes, LLC., said there were some days last week where the gate wasn't functioning. She also said the safety and well-being of residents are the company's top priorities.

Neighbors in the area said they are taking added precaution knowing whoever is responsible is still on the run. If you have any information that could help investigators, you're asked to call the Atlanta Police Department.
