Teen shot during dispute at Cobb County movie theater
AUSTELL, Ga. - A 16-year-old was shot after a confrontation outside of a Cobb County movie theater late Tuesday night.
Police said the victim was involved in a dispute with another male in the parking lot of the Regal 22 in Austell off of the East-West Connector around 11 p.m. Before the dispute escalated, the teen retreated and was shot in the right leg by the suspect, police said.
Paramedics rushed the victim to the hospital. Officers on the scene described his injuries as non-life threatening.
Police taped off a large area of the parking lot as they looked for clues early Wednesday morning. A shell casing could be seen on the ground. Detectives wouldn't confirm if it was related to the shooting.
Officers also searched a car, before allowing it to leave.
Cobb County police say information is known about the shooter, but haven't released a description yet.
