According to the Newton County Sheriff's Office, a red or burnt orange Dodge Charger was driving up and down Crestfield Circle between 9 and 9:15 p.m. Tuesday.

Investigators said four people were in front of a home near the intersection of Crestfield and Chandler Field Drive when someone inside the Charger opened fire on them.

"[I was] just sitting there watching TV, hear a bunch of gunshots, you know and I thought it was a car accident," said Paul Shannon, who lives nearby. "So, I came outside and then I see over here all kinds of people screaming and running. I heard a woman screaming, 'He's got a gun!' Then I heard a woman scream, 'I've been shot!' I heard that. 'I've been shot!'"

Investigators said a 17-year-old girl was shot in the chest. Paramedics airlifted her to Atlanta Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Deputies have not released her name.

Investigators are not sure if the gunman was aiming for the house, the people in front of the home, or if the shooting was random.

They plan to review surveillance video from the neighborhood to gather more details.  Deputies ask anyone with information about the case to call the Newton County Sheriff's Office.
