Suspects arrested in multi-county burglary ring
HENRY COUNTY, Ga. - Four men and a juvenile have been arrested in connection with a string of burglaries in Stockbridge, Conyers and Henry, Monroe and Bibb counties.
According to Henry County Police, Calvin Elston, 21, Nathan Smith, 21, Donnovan Hicks, 18, Raymond Farley, 23, and Brequayvious Troutman, 17, face burglary charges. All five suspects are from Macon.
On August 3, police say several businesses were burglarized by five black males in an older model Ford truck. Later that day, the vehicle was spotted and a chase ensued in Monroe County. The vehicle eventually crash and the five suspects attempted to flee the scene, police said. Three of them were arrested a short while later, and two others were apprehended later that night.
Police say the truck was stolen from Bibb County, and most of the items recovered from the vehicle were from burglaries in Henry County.
The burglaries in Henry County, included an incident where, police say, the suspects stole three empty cash registers from a Smoothie King. They also stole $5 and a pack of beer from a Thai restaurant and several packs of cigarettes from a local grocery store, police said.
