Police in Gwinnett County call him a 'sexual predator' who has escalated his attacks on women in the Buford area.

Now, Equeill Williams is behind bars. He is facing charges in one case, but police believe he is behind three more similar attacks on women.

"We believe Equeill Williams is suspected in all of these cases," said Corp. Deon Washington, with the Gwinnett County Police Department.

He said the sexual assaults occurred at two drug store parking lots, the parking lot of a restaurant and outside a woman's apartment. All the attacks occurred within a two mile radius around the city of Buford.

One of the locations where a sexual assault occurred was at the parking lot of the Walgreens parking lot on Sudderth Road.

Tierra Chrismon said she saw Williams struggling with a woman in a car.

"The lady was getting ready to get in the car, like I said he grabbed her. She was trying to honk the horn and everything and try to get the people to come out," said Chrismon.

Police said the woman got away safely when her attacker took off. Earlier in the week, and about a mile away,  outside the Golden Buddah Restaurant, investigators responded to a woman who was forced into the backseat of her car at gunpoint then choked, robbed and raped.

"She was saying she was licensed and everything, and if she would've been able to get her weapon, then she probably would have shot him," said Chismon.

Williams is charged with rape, robbery and kidnapping. Police said more charges are expected. Williams is being held at the Gwinnett County Detention Center without bond.
