Brookhaven Police Major Brandon Gurley told FOX 5 News officers and North Metro SWAT came to the home on Osborne Road to serve an arrest warrant for a domestic violence incident.

Police say during the attempt, the suspect, identified as 48-year-old George Frank Roach, barricaded himself inside the home and refused to come out.

"We have had some sort of communications with him but he is refusing to come out. SWAT is now in the process, along with negotiators, of trying to bring this to a peaceful conclusion.  We do have reason to believe he is armed inside", Maj. Gurley told FOX 5's Deidra Dukes.

After Roach stopped communicating with police, they sent in cameras and a robot to search for him.  They found Roach hiding in a secret room.  Police say he put up a struggle but was taken into custody.  The Brookhaven man faces felony charges and is being held at the DeKalb County Jail.
