Police have identified and are searching for a suspect accused of carjacking and robbing a taxi driver at gunpoint in Norcross.

Christopher Bass, 17, has active warrants for hijacking a motor vehicle, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a theft of a vehicle, according to police.

Bass's whereabouts are currently unknown, and police believe he may be armed.

Gwinnett County police released surveillance images showing Bass at a Shell gas station on Jimmy Carter Boulevard shortly before he is seen getting inside the taxi on May 9.

Police say Bass asked the driver to take him to the apartment complex on Preston Lake Drive. Once they arrived, Bass pulled out a gun and demanded cash from the driver. Bass also told the driver to get out of the car before driving off in his taxi, which was later found abandoned near Preston Lake Drive.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact the Gwinnett County Police Department at 770-513-5300.
