It happened along Grayson Highway near Simonton Road.

According to police, a vehicle was running from Lawrenceville police before crashing. The driver, identified as Nashawn Wiggins, was wanted for several warrants and took off from authorities.

Police said Wiggins crashed on Grayson Highway, but escaped from the car before it shot up in flames. He ran from the scene but was quickly captured by police.

The crash sparked a large gas fire after the vehicle ruptured a gas line from an above ground gas valve. Responding officers had to call in a gas company to dig multiple areas in order to try and cap the leak. They put out the fire several hours after the crash took place.

The crash also ended up knocking down a power line, causing power outages in the surrounding area.
