The latest protests took place at 10 a.m. Friday on the 19th anniversary of the Columbine High School shooting that left 13 people dead in Littleton, Colorado. More than 2,600 demonstrations were planned.

Many students wore orange and took a moment of silence for victims of Columbine and other shootings.

The walkouts follow a surge of youth activism following the Feb. 14 shooting at a high school in Parkland, Florida.

FOX 5 News was at Lakeside High School in DeKalb County Friday where hundreds of students participated in the walkout.
