Store Clerk Attacked and Robbed

ATLANTA - A store clerk at the Quik Mart on Metropolitan Parkway in Atlanta was beaten and robbed by two young men. Police said the robbers are teens, one just 15 or 16 years old.

Surveillance video from the store showed a young man in a dark blue hooded sweatshirt with a metal cash box. A store clerk tries to take the money box away. The robber pulled out a gun and pointed it straight at him. They start to fight, and in the video it can be seen that another young man, wearing a light red or orange hooded sweatshirt jumped in and start to pummel the store clerk.

During the fight the cash box popped open and money started to fly. The two robbers grabbed as many bills as they could and took off running.

An employee at the store told FOX 5 News the teens in the video have been in the store numerous times. He said the teens set up the clerk.

"One of them pretended to shoplift something and when the clerk came out from behind the counter to stop him, the other teen ran behind the counter and took the cash box," said the employee.

The robbery happened Christmas Eve. Police have very clear surveillance video and are hoping to track down the two teens before they strike again.
