A house fire late Monday night claimed the life of a Stone Mountain woman.

The blaze broke out around 11:30 p.m. in the 4100 block of Warrior Trail.  Firefighters said when they arrived they found the two story brick home engulfed in flames, with fire shooting out the windows. Neighbors told fire officials that an older woman was trapped inside.

Firefighters entered the home, but couldn't find the victim due to the extreme flames and a partial roof collapse. After they knocked down the blaze, the body of the 87-year-old woman was discovered. Firefighters wouldn't say where she was located, but said she was alone inside the home when the fire broke out.

The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.

Family members identified the victim as Anne Young. They told us she lived in the home since the early 70's.

Young was a retired beautician, who had previously been a homemaker.  She was a dancer when she was younger and loved to travel the world, according to loved ones.
