Shooting turns deadly inside Mexican restaurant

CANTON, Ga. - Canton Police are investigating how a man was shot and killed, after a suspect opened fire inside the Taqueria Oaxaquena Restaurant off Marietta Road. 

Police said the ordeal happened around 7:40 p.m. with a call of shots fired inside the business. Police said a man sustained gunshot wounds and was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital. Around 10:30 p.m., police told FOX 5 the man died from his injuries. 

Officers searched the area around the restaurant's strip mall and arrested the suspect in the woodline. Police released a surveillance photo of the man they said is the gunman. 

Officers have shut down the scene around the restaurant as they continue to investigate the homicide.
