Air force members received a warm welcome as they returned home to Atlanta this week.

The 283rd Georgia Air National Guard Communication Squadron arrived at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport Thursday morning. They were greeted with lots of hugs, kisses and happy tears as they reunited with their families.

Maria Hale told FOX 5 that she's very happy to have her husband back home.

“It’s always nice to come back home to family,” Mr. Hale said.

Airman Ryan Merritt said while he was overseas he constantly thought about getting back to his family.

“I’m back home, I’m with my wife and two girls and I’m just ready to get back to life as usual,” Merritt said.

The service members returned home from Africa and they told FOX 5 they are looking forward to catching up on lost time with their families.
