Serial burglar steals thousands from Dacula businesses

The Gwinnett County Police needs the public’s help catching a burglar who robbed three businesses in two days.

Officials said the robberies began on May 5, when the suspect smashed the front door of a business on Auburn Road with a brick. The suspect then stole the cash register and fled.

The next night, the suspect struck two other businesses – one on Indian Trail Lilburn Road and one on Satellite Boulevard. In both cases, police say he forced his way in using bricks or rocks, stole the cash register, and left.

"He's only in there two or three minutes. It seems to be planned because he's going to a specific location. He's going to grab cash register not fumbling at all. If he drops things sometimes he grabs them sometimes he leaves them," Corporal Wilbert M. Rundles, Gwinnett County Police Department.

In total, police estimate the man has stolen over $3,500 and has caused more than $1,700 in damages.

"As people commit these crimes and the more they get away with it the more bold they get," said Cpl. Rundles.

He has been described as a heavy-set male with a dark complexion. He has a thin mustache. In the robberies, he wears a hoodie tight around his face and light or white-colored tennis shoes.

"The main thing I remind people is if you were victimized would you want somebody to call. Somebody knows him, He's making poor choices and we need to put this to an end," said Rundles.
