FLAT GAP, Ky. (AP) — Six people are still unaccounted for as more heavy rain, mosquitoes, humidity and knee-deep mud hamper the search following flooding that killed at least two people. Search crews plan to resume their efforts this morning. Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear has declared a state of emergency to give local officials immediate access to state resources. Authorities estimate more than 150 homes were destroyed.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama has a tough sell to skeptical lawmakers looking at the Iran nuclear deal, and he plans to discuss it at a news conference today while Vice President Joe Biden meets with Democrats. One of Obama's top priorities is convincing lawmakers, world leaders and the American public that the deal is in the country's best interests.

WASHINGTON (AP) — With a July 31 deadline approaching, the House plans to take up a temporary highway funding bill today, scraping together $8 billion to keep things going until mid-December. Over in the Senate, Republican leaders want a long-term measure lasting beyond next year's election, but questions remain over how to fund it.

ATHENS, Greece (AP) — A German official is admonishing Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras (TSEE'-prahs) over his criticism of the preliminary bailout deal with creditors. Deputy finance minister Jens Spahn says calling the deal irrational isn't helping matters. Greece's parliament is to vote on the deal today and Tsipras is trying to corral enough favorable votes amid some vehement opposition to even more austerity. Greece's finance ministry says banks will remain closed through Thursday.

SEATTLE (AP) — Efforts to reach the site of a crashed plane are to continue today in Washington state. A teenager who walked out of the woods as the sole survivor is now home in Bellingham, arriving there just as the wreckage itself was spotted on a rugged mountainside. Until searchers reach the site, no positive identification is being made of either the missing plane or its two missing occupants. The survivor says her step-grandparents died in the crash.
