The first sea lion born at the Georgia Aquarium has made her public debut.

And her name is quintessentially Georgian.

The pup, named Scarlett, is almost four months old and is now on exhibit.

She's named after Scarlett O'Hara, one of the main characters from Margaret Mitchell's "Gone with the Wind."

“After getting to know Scarlett over the last month, her personality really resonated with all of us,” said Will Elgar, director of animal training, pinnipeds, at Georgia Aquarium. “We wanted to tie back to the great city we call home with a name that also attributed to her personality traits. I think we’ve found something just as iconic and star-studded with Scarlett, as our first sea lion pup born in Atlanta.”

As a special treat, Scarlett O'Hara herself came to the aquarium to meet her namesake.
