October is designated as Breast Cancer Awareness month and the color pink honors those who have battled or are battling breast cancer awareness.

Sandy Springs Police are participating in raising awareness of breast cancer by temporarily replacing the blue line on four of their marked police vehicles with pink lines. The blue line is known in the law enforcement community for its commemorations of fallen officers.

“Breast cancer has touched many within the community as well as within our Police family. The addition of the pink stripe is the department’s way of letting those affected families know that they have our support,” said Sandy Springs Police Chief Ken DeSimone.
