Roswell police defend arrest caught on camera
ROSWELL, Ga. - Roswell police are defending their officer’s decision to use force against the woman in this video.
This is body camera and in-cruiser footage of the woman’s arrest last week.
According to police, the officer attempted to place a woman under arrest after locating marijuana inside the vehicle she was in.
She began to resist arrest and punched the officer in the face.
He then struck her in the face.
Roswell police said as soon as he gained control of the situation, the officer de-escalated his force.
The woman was transported to a local hospital from the Fulton County Jail where it was determined she had a broken jaw.
She has been charged with possession of marijuana and felony obstruction of an officer.
