Roswell High Student Hit by Car, Injured

A high school student is recovering after he was struck by a car Monday afternoon.

According to Roswell Police, Brian Goepfert, 17, was crossing King Road in front of Roswell High School when another student hit him.

Emergency responders took Goepfert to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

"Something like this could happen to anybody," said Will Bruggeman, who knows Goepfert from band. "People cross this road all the time.  I cross this road.  A lot of kids from Roswell park at the church over there."

Students said they hope the accident will remind people to be cautious when traveling near the school.

"I hope kids will definitely pay more attention when they're crossing the road and I hope drivers, as well, will pay attention especially around the school zone," said Cameron Couch, a junior at Roswell High.

Police have not said whether the female driver will face any charges in the accident.

"People are a little bit shaken up about it, but everybody's there for him.  He's got a lot of friends," Bruggeman added.
