Reward raised for thieves who stole more than 30 firearms

COVINGTON, Ga. - Authorities have increase the reward for tips that lead to the arrest and indictment of four burglars who broke into a Covington gun store and made off with more than 30 firearms.

Investigators said the gun heist happened just before 3 a.m. on February 29 at a shop called Shots Fired in Covington.

Police said surveillance photos show four suspects, all wearing hoodies, smashing into a cabinet to grab the guns. They say among the stolen weapons were several AR-15 semi-automatic rifles.

Covington police detective Allan Seebaran said that "just having these illegal guns out on the streets is dangerous to anyone."

The four men left in three separate vehicles including possibly a silver 4-door Honda, beige Dodge 1500, and older model silver Pontiac G6. Police said one of the suspect was over 6 feet, 5 inches tall.
