Reward offered in search for sexual assault suspect

Police are offering a reward for any information that could lead to the arrest of a sexual assault suspect.

Atlanta police said a female was walking north on East Lake Boulevard Southeast last Thursday when a cherry red vehicle approached her. She told police the 4-door car stopped behind her and a male driver asked for her phone number.

Police said the woman ignored him and continued walking south toward Glenwood Avenue. The man turned the vehicle around and began following her in the southbound lane. He followed her for a short distance, according to police.

Investigators said the man then got out of the car, armed with a black handgun. He pointed the weapon at the victim and ordered her to get into the car. She got into the passenger seat, police said.

The man drove a short distance and then ordered the victim to get out of the vehicle and walked her behind a church on Memorial Drive Southeast. Investigators said that's when the man sexually assaulted her and then drove off.

The attacker is described as a black male with light complexion. Police said he has a low, temp fade haircut, tattoos on his collar bone and arms and was last seen wearing a red tank top with white trim, green shorts and white Adidas shoes.

Police said the attacker was driving a mid-size vehicle, which had a dealer drive-out tag and grey cloth interior with a black trim. The windows were not tinted and there was a sticker in middle of the windshield, directly above the radio. Police said the car was described as being very clean "as if recently detailed."

Anyone with information is asked to call Atlanta police. A reward of up to $2,000 is being offered for any information that leads to an arrest.
