Private school in Columbus to drug test students

A private school in west Georgia announces plans to drug test older students.

Officials with the Brookstone School in Columbus said the drug testing for students in grades 8 through 12 will be mandatory after next year.

Officials said they'll collect hair samples to do the testing.

Students will be tested for 18 types of drugs.

That doesn't include alcohol, but parents can request alcohol testing.

The school said the focus of the program is the health and well-being of students.
