Bold thieves broke into several cars in northwest Atlanta Tuesday afternoon in broad daylight.

Surveillance video shows a woman behind the wheel of an SUV pulling into the parking lot of a business on Defoor Hills. She pulls right up to the front of the building and two men jump out and start breaking into cars.

They punched the lock out of Russell Raines' Tahoe and stole some priceless items. Raines played football for the University of Alabama from 2009 to 2012. When he graduated he was given a Letterman ring. He treasured it because it symbolized all the hard work, time and commitment he put into playing football for the Crimson Tide. The ring was taken. Along with it, a watch that was handed down to him from his grandfather who died a little more than a year ago was taken.

“I could get another watch, but it wouldn't be the same, it wouldn't be his. It's not necessarily the monetary value of the items, it's more of what they meant to me personally,” said Raines.

The surveillance video shows the crooks punching the lock in on Raines' SUV and another one belonging to his co-worker. It took them less than a minute. Police don't think this was their only stop. Investigators believe the same woman and two men are behind other break-ins that happened in the area Tuesday afternoon.

Raines is glad the crooks were caught on video, but it doesn't help bring back his possessions.

“They don't care about anyone else's property, if they did they wouldn't be doing it in the first place,” said Raines.
