Prayer vigil to support KSU cheerleaders
KENNESAW, Ga. - Religious leaders gather to pray and show their support for Kennesaw State University cheerleaders who took a knee in protest of police brutality.
It happened Wednesday on the KSU Green.
The gathering follows a recent Georgia Board of Regents report that KSU President Sam Olens violated university system rules by removing the cheerleaders from the field.
Olens made the decision to remove them after some cheerleaders took a knee before a September game.
Even though Olens later reversed his decision, the group says it's time for Olens to step down.
According to the Board of Regents report, Olens should have notified the board before changing the pre-game protocol.
