DeKalb County's Division of Animal Services and Enforcement is looking for what they call a potentially dangerous dog.

They say it escaped from a quarantine shelter on Saturday, after it was closed for the day. It was placed there after recently biting someone.

The shelter is located in the 800 block of Camp Road in Decatur.

The dog is an adult pitbul mix with white and brown spots.

Animal service officers are actively searching for the dog. They began searching on Sunday.

According to a news release, the victim of the dog bite and health department have both been notified.

Anyone who has seen the dog is warned to not try and approach or capture it. Instead, anyone with information is asked to call 404-294-2669 ext. 5.
